Floris Wamelink is an all-round designer working at the intersection of art, fashion, and product design.

His practice explores how objects can carry traces of life: the marks of time, handwork, use, and transformation. He approaches fashion through the logic of product design, making pieces that balance function, attitude, and material presence.

He works with steel, leather, concrete, denim, reclaimed materials, and half-melted PET felt, combining industrial strength with organic growth. His forms take after natural structures: bones, branches, roots, and veins, systems of support, circulation, and connection. Chairs become organisms. Racks become sculptures. Lamps resemble living cells. Textiles behave like skin.

The work sits close to the Japanese idea of Wabi-Sabi, finding beauty in imperfection, transience, and authenticity. Frayed denim, rusted steel, cracked glass, chipped concrete, scratches, patina, and visible hand-finishing are not flaws. They are evidence of existence. Every piece stays controlled and balanced, clean enough to feel intentional, raw enough to feel alive.

Rather than static forms, Floris makes hybrid objects with character. Calm enough to live with, striking enough to be remembered.
